Water.org

Water.org works exclusively to unlock finance for water and sanitation at the base of the economic pyramid.  Our most well-known activity is WaterCredit, which uses philantrophic funds and/or TA to support local financial institutions to pilot or scale lending for water and sanitation to those who currently lack access.  Growing components of our work include working with utilities to either secure needed capital to improve and expand services or strengthen their ability to connect and serve low-income households as well as exploring access to SME financing for water and sanitation enterprises.  The final growing body of work includes partering with others to directly engage and influence goverment policies that can open or expand financial flows for water and sanitation access.
