Coordinating the UN's work on water and sanitation

AquaFed – The International Federation of Private Water Operators

AquaFed, the International Federation of Private Water Operators, brings together more than 400 private water and wastewater services providers from all over the world. Created in 2005, AquaFed is one of the few business federations recognized in the UN ECOSOC system as an NGO in special consultative status.

For many years AquaFed has been a “Friend” of UNWATER. AquaFed aims to bring practitioners’ views and experiences to international debates. Collectively, our members serve up to 1 billion people on a daily basis and transform human rights into a reality through a wide variety of contractual models.
